back pain

I'm 20 and a sportsman indeed.i've been suffering from back pain from since 4 years.I consulted some doctors and they've given me some dissapointing answers.they asked me to scan my stomache first. But they couldn't find anything. After that i've been asked to take my urine test done. But it wasn't helping them to find out what was wrong with me.At last they asked me to get my X-Ray done. And he found that my spine is straight. Its not normal. And he suggested me some VItamin-D tablets and some spinal exercises .Its been 2 weeks but the pain is remaining the same.I don't know what else to do.Should i stop my sports career?

Why have your doctors not asked for a specialist spinal consultant to see you and the very least order an MRI scan. X-Ray's not show disc issues. You say back pain? What type of pain is it? No you have pains down your legs? Into your bum cheeks? Hips? With some more specific info some in here will be able to rule out certain conditions. However, without an MRI you'll never know exactly what's going on.

Is it just your GP you've been seeing?

Im glad that you left a valuable commentthat I should look forward for a MRI scan.I have been thinking about it since im suffering from this back pain.In this age is that possible to have disc failure? Or if it's there is there any normal way to cure them?

I've just had a fusion caused by disc failure. I've another 2 knackered ones that, touch wood, aren't giving me any bother just now. An MRI is essential. You can then take it from there.

      Good luck.

I am a ex volleyball player, hence the stuffed back. Also I am a PE teacher so not a good thing having a knackered back. Walking is my limit just now and even that's a challenge. However, it's a challenge I need to face, overcome and get through.

Normally I'm on my front. However, since the op 4 weeks ago I've been on my back. Sleeping well now in this position as I couldn't sleep this way before.
