long term citalopram 20mg user (18 months). Suffering lower back pain, aches and stiffness, especially at night. Does anyone else recognise these symptoms as side effects of Cit??

unfortunately i can't help on the side effect you may be having but im just wondering, how long did you find it took for the main side effects to wear off? im currently on my 8th week and i still have mild trouble with my anxiety. Sorry if you don't want this post here, i can remove if you want me too, I'm just trying to put my mind at rest a little.
I also hope your pain eases soon x

No worries! Side effects were insomnia for 2-3 weeks with some intrusive thoughts, and occasional episodes of anxiety that settled down after 6 months. Feeling superb this year, apart from back trouble.

Its nice to put my mind at rest, knowing it will get easier, it's much easier now than it was say 4 weeks ago, i know im still in early days too. 6 months sounds so long but i know its also not something that can be rushed either.
I hope your back pain eases soon. Can you not see a doctor at all? x
