    hi

would also recommend a pillow under your knees if you're on your back or between your knees if you're on your side.  If you're on your side, you can try propping your foot up on another pillow or a body pillow between your knees so your knees don't touch and your foot is still elevated.

I can relate but I promise, it gets better!

I had the same problem. Lots of pillows to prop up your knees and definitely between knees when lying on your side. It is tricky to get the right layout especially in bed but you need to take pressure off lower back and sciatic nerve. It gets better as you get more mobile.

    good luck

Maybe try and elevate just the foot end of your mattress a little, used small piles of heavy books under mine. Discovered that little tip in week 2 post op and was way more comfortable after doing that!! Hope you'll be feeling less pain soon.

Hi Sarah, if you pain is in your lower back it could be coccyx pain.  I was in agony within the first week of my recovery and it didn't matter how many pillows I sat on I was in so much pain.  A little research and a quick trip to Argos by my son for a coccyx relief cushion and it improved the pain immensly!  I still have days of some discomfort but not as severe as the early days.  I am now 6 weeks post op

      Hi Sarah

Just thought I'd drop you a quick note to see how you are getting on?  Are you getting any relief from the pain in your back?  Did you try a coccyx cushion?  Hope you are ok

I iced my foot continuously for a week post operation. It helped a lot. And somehow cold therapy takes your mind off other pain. I also used a wedge instead of pillows to prop my foot/leg up. It eased pressure on the lower back. I hope you feel better soon.
