Back pain when swallowing , started yesterday

Hi, I'm 21 years old male. 10 days ago I was working out at midnight with a possible fever. I felt hot in face, but didn't consider I might had increased body temperature. Next day , at noon, I've experienced shoulder pain which was progressively getting worse by day. Shoulder pain was intense and it occurred when I took a deep breath or when I laughed. I also couldn't lay down because the shoulder pain would occur so that resulted in lack of sleep. Body temperature was around 37.5C. After four days I went to the emergency room because the pain wasn't relenting. They thought I had pericarditis , so they hospitalized me in order to do more testing. They did the heart and lungs x-ray , heart ultrasound , ct pulmonary angiography and everything was fine. They even sent rhemuatologist, imunologist and physiatrist to check me. Everything was fine again. I was hospitalized for five days and shoulder pain was gone on fourth day. I was given Brufen 3 times a day and Sumamed 500 mg once in two days. The whole time in hospital I felt a mild pain/discomfort in my chest/central upper back while breathing deeply , but I figured it is nothing serious. In a discharge summary as a conclusion it says the shoulder pain was caused by intense physical activity. I was discharged yesterday.

The problem I'm having now is central upper back pain ( roughly in the area of my lungs, but in the central back)[ and sometimes in chest ] when I swallow. The pain isn't strong, but it worries me. Pain when swallowing is weird and I feel like it's slightly worse when I drink or swallow saliva. Similar pain occurs when breathing deeply. The only time pain gets somewhat strong is while drinking water directly from the faucet ( in a position where I'm bent over ). Also I have a feeling in my chest like I've been running on a cold air, but I have a very slight urge for coughing. Problems with swallowing occurred yesterday. What could be the reason for all of this? Apologies for not being word-perfect in English and thank you for reading.

Have they given you an endoscopy? Or any tests to look in your stomach? Try some nexium (esomeprazole) and see if that helps with the pain or swallowing. Also try some chalk tablets.

Ask if you can see a gastroenterologist. You could have a number of upper stomach problems, which can give you chest pains and problems swallowing. The ibuprofren could irritate your stomach and make the pain worse, if it is your stomach which is causing you the symptoms.
