Back Pain worrying me

This pain started in July! It originally started in my lower right back and would radiate to right pelvis. Since then the pain can be on the left side and left pelvis as well and into my buttocks. It's not permanent pain (75% of time)and walking makes it easier. My hips feel as though they ache also. I have had blood tests for liver/Heart and kidneys and all OK. My last 2 urine samples contained a small amount of blood. Not visible to the eye. (could this be from taking too many NSAI's???)Next step MRI and Urology but I am so worried it is something serious. The worry is now making me feel ill. I also suffer from vaginal atrophy so an internal scan is being done next week. Its been three years since I had a smear, should I request another (although as I am over 50, they do every 5yrs)?

To be honest pain killers do not work, the best thing I find is co-codamol but I only take them when it's really bad and a hot water bottle.

    Hi Amanda, I'm sorry to hear about your pain. I have over the last couple of days been suffering lower back pain - it started on left side and is now over both sides. I'm awaiting an appointment from the doctor. Cocodamol only helps fir first hour and it makes me drowsy but can't sleep. Hot water bottle helps. I have a bulging disc low down on right side and wonder if coming from that... Or a kidney infection... Or something else. I wonder how you have got on?
