It sounds like you probably have a pinched nerve. The problem with L4 and L5 is mostly a disk bulge. When a disc bulges it compresses a nerve which them cause pain in that site and down the leg. Most of the time it pinches the sciatic nerve. but there are other nerves in your back that can also be pinched. I would certainly ask if that's what your doctor thinks is wrong and if you're interested in trying medication they will probably want to put you on something like Gabapentin (Neurontin) or pregabalin which is known as Lyrica in the US.

acupuncture is really good for any trap nerve honestly lyrica is the most prescribed drug in America at the moment instead of giving people oxycodone but I have watched my husband come off lyrica and he felt like he was dying and it took at least 2 to 4 weeks and the weight gain is awful I would say take a Valium lots of acupuncture lots of physio and please stay away from it if you can or just very very short term sorry if I sound over the top I really am ❤ there is a page on Facebook called the survival Page 4 people coming off Lyrica and the stories of red I just horrific good luck sending all my love from down under❤❤❤

my email is so horrible that I just got notice of your message from 3 months ago . I am right now weaning off of Lyrica and so far doing okay . I started at 150 mg and I'm down to just 50 mg a day . it wasn't really helping me any and I don't want to be on something if it doesn't work .
