Bacterial Prostatitis

Posted , 1 user is following.

Hello All,

I have been getting bacterial prostatitis once every year. I have done all possible tests including an MRI which does not indicate any prostate enlargement. The trigger is always wine, or coffee. After a few days/weeks of coffee or wine [moderate consumption] - I get a prostate/UTI infection. The blood work shows an infection, increased WBC, and other infection related markers. My urine culture shows WBC increase, and largely an E-COLI infection. Sometimes, the urine culture only shows WBC present but NO bacterial infection. However my PSA is elevated. After a course [4-6 weeks] of Cipro, everything sorts out. All the markers, PSA, Urine, and other symptoms such as Abdominal stiffness, and urethra discomfort subsides. I am not sure why I am getting a bacterial infection because of Wine/Coffee.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Best,

Joseph
