Bacterial vaginosis with brown spotting?

Hi , 

I had a smear test and cervical exam done today as I’ve been experiencing some brown spotting between my period.  I’m on birth control pills and have never experienced this before. My doctor thinks it could be Bv, but I’ve no other symptoms other than brown discharge! I don’t get the results for 3 weeks. Has this happened to anyone else?

    Yes, that has happened to me. I just went back to my Gyno and tested negative for BV and negative for all STDs across the board. I didn’t bring up the brown spotting as it happened a couple months back for about a week and went away. I still have white discharge most days and an odor that will not go away! It is so frustrating. She also tested for something (forgot what the medical term was) but it was similar to BV and less common.. negative for that as well. I just cannot seem to figure this out. Anyway, I wish you the best and happy you don’t have to deal with the odor!

      Thank you for replying!! You’ve put my mind at ease hearing that you’ve also experienced brown spotting! I wonder what it could be for you? I have some cervical erosion which could cause the bleeding !
