Bad anxiety and low mood? What should I do?

Hi all, hope you are doing well. Just here for some advice. I've been going to the gym lately on the regular and losing weight so I'm a bit confused as to why my anxiety is skyrocketing and my depression is bad. I find myself unable to get out of my own head lately. Its very hard for something to take my full attention. I will find myself worrying about things that don't matter and it will play on my mind. For example I will get a word in my head and I'll keep repeating that word over and over. Its like a thought is just trapped in my head? I'm also nervous about everything lately. I will think I've left the cooker on and convince myself there's going to be a house fire? And the scary part is I know I turned the damn cooker off but I'll still worry!?
I've also not felt like doing anything. I'll just sit, maybe watch Netflix and wish the day away. I've still had that motivation to get to the gym but after that I just don't enjoy or feel like doing anything. Its a weird state of mind.
I'm still on 30mg mirtazapine and I'm strongly considering getting off them. The doctor recommended fluoxetine (Prozac) so that might be what I try next. I hear they can cause insomnia though and I do suffer with that so I'm skeptical whether to risk it. Anyway, is a medication change wise? I don't feel like the mirtazapine is doing anything as I'm in a constant state of anxiety with an awful low mood. Thanks

Personally, I get on with fluoxetine much better than sertraline , it lowered my anxiety to a more copeable level.
If you workout at the gym regularly to lose weight you could be burning off lots of sugars, this may leave you feeling low once your body and brain readjust after a workout.
Check with your gp as to exercising on anti depressants, and mention your energy drop after the gym.
Mike.

Hey, glad to hear that you get on with fluoxetine. That makes me feel more confident about switching to it. My issue is generalized anxiety disorder and it progressed to depression and insomnia so if that helps with anxiety it might be the med for me.
Thats interesting to hear about the sugar after workouts and stuff, I'll have to bring that up. Thanks for your advise.
