Bad breath and horrendous morning breath/acid reflux

Hello,

So basically I suffer from bad breath, probably more to this degree for at least 2-3 yrs. I only became aware of it over the last 2 yrs, and it really has affected my social confidence. I have this constant bad taste in my mouth, sometimes its metallic tasting, other times its just an in-explainable lingering feeling that my mouth is unclean.

The breath, I think is to the point most people seem repulsed when I walk into a room. I brush my teeth twice a day, floss daily, and even started using a copper tongue scraper.

I have a coating on my tongue most days, and even after scraping it isn't completely pink. Its like the film comes back. I try to get right to the back of the tongue/throat but I gag.

I have also tried oral thrush gels; and even then I don't believe its thrush. I've tried many many types of mouthwash, toothpaste, and methods. I have gargled warm salt water.

Admittedly, I do need replace my crown and have another tooth that needs removing. People have actually told me I don't have bad breath/ despite me thinking to the contrary. Peoples micro-expressions give it away abit.

I also get occasional severe heartburn, and that horrible acid feeling in the back of my throat. My throat always feels 'dirty' or unclean, and that bothers me the most, even when I chew chewing gum etc.

Could it be stomach related? Maybe its bad bacteria? I do drink actimel and this doesn't seem to work.

Any help and I'd be so grateful.

I have not heard of reflux resulting in bad breath, but know that both bacteria in the mouth can cause it as can certain medicines.

Even after following a good oral care routine, your bad breath persists. You should check in with the dentist, With the professional help, you will track down the real cause of the bad breath.

Lifestyle changes to treat bad breath from GERD

    1. waiting at least 2 to 3 hours to lie down after you eat
    2. putting a six-inch board or wedge pillow under the head of your bed to raise your torso and reduce pressure on your LES
    3. eating smaller meals throughout the day rather than three large meals
    4. reaching and maintaining a healthy weight to help reduce pressure on the LES
    5. using chewing gum to freshen breath and decrease reflux

Try blis K12. You can buy it on Amazon. It is a probiotic for the mouth and throat. Ive had bad breath for YEARS. Antibiotics were the only thing that helped me but the bad breath would always come back after i stopped taking them. Plus they are just bad to take anyways. Blis K12 is a strand of good bacteria. When taken everyday it populates in your mouth and crowds the bad bacteria out. This has helped me so far and Im only on day 3 of taking it.

I do not see how actimel can help your issues. Actimel helps the system as a remedy for stomach issues, and work well with the digestive system, It doesnt cure bad breath. What cures it is lots of giggling. and brushing the tongue. Use either a soft tothbrush on the tongue or a plastic scrapper. Do not use a copper scrapper.
