Bad Breath/reflux? pnd? infection? Something else?

Hi,
I wasn't sure where to put this duscussion.
I've had bad breath (especially horrendous morning breath) for as long as I can remember. Probably for a good 10 years or so? (I'm 29)
I've also experience what I think is possible post nasal drip (tongue is always coated. Often feel mucus on back of throat and need to clear my thoat)
and some sort of acid reflux in my throat (occasional burning sensation below my adams apple)
Both the possible PND and reflux seemed to come on after already having bad breath for a numbe of years though, so i'm not sure if they're even related? The reflux feeling is fairly infrequent.
I also occasionally get tonsil stones.
I have good oral health. Brush twice per day, floss, moutwash. Dentist confirmed gums are healthy.
Yet I can taste bad breath coming on again shortly after my morning routine.
NOW, I recently took metronidazole for something completely unrelated, and to my utter amazement, my breath became as fresh as a babies! Reflief after a decade! Even my morning breath smelt of nothing.
I was so happy until I read online that other people had experienced this phenomenen, but that the bad breath returns when you stop taking the antibiotic.
I stopped taking it 4 days ago, and I think that my breath may finally be reverting back This morning wasn't quite as fresh as yesterdays. I'm depressed now that my bad breath is likely to return in full force within a few days.
I'm wondering if anyone can shed any light?
Anyone been in the same boat and found a cure?
Can any knowledge be gained from the fact that the antibiotic temporaily cured me or not?

I'd like to contribute a bit with my own case and I'd also like to add a question, since I believe, by now this 4-year old thread can be seen as a general pool for discussion, I'm not sure if the OP is still active.
I have a BB problem since around 4 years when I started an antibiotic therapy against akne. It was a antibiotic called Doxycycline, and I took 2 100-mg tablets a day. I think I had 3 treatments overall over the course of 1 or 1,5 years. Also, I'm pretty sure I didn't complete the last treatment, since I have one tablet box left which still has half of the tablets untouched.
Ok, so I also had some general mouth hygiene problems like not flossing enough, but I fixed these and got a pretty good hygiene by now except some periodontal pockets which are a bit deeper than common at my age at some of my teeth. My dentist says these pockets are likely full of bad bacteria and old food residue, causing BB. I will have these cleaned soon.
Anyway, I consider my tongue to be the biggest problem causing BB. It doesn't matter how much I clean my tongue in the morning, as soon as I have breakfast or lunch, I usually get a white/yellow coating on my tongue which gets worse smelling every hour I feel. I am 100% sure I'm having a bacterial problem in my mouth and my dentist agrees that it's highly likely that the antibiotic doxycycline therapy had desequilibrated the balance in my mouth, somehow leading to an overproduction of the bad bacteria. My dentist considers the periodontal pockets to be a serious reason for the BB, however I feel like it's not really the root cause of the BB. Why would the periodontal pockets cause my tongue to get that bad smelling bacterial coating?? I can't see the connection there but in any case, cleaning the pockets will help of course, so I'll do it.
After cleaning the pockets, my dentist suggest killing the bacteria in those pockets through a antibacterial photodynamic therapy, it's some kind of laser thing where th bacteria gets color-marked and then explodes by light contact. He says this will allow us to avoid antibiotics since he recommends to not harm my bacterial equilibrium any further. I do get his point, however I'm interested in solutions how to actually better the equilibrium and kind of revert back to the state it was before I took the stupid doxycycline. Even though I'm a complete newbie in medicine I want to believe that an antibiotic like metronidazole could maybe get me that bacterial balance back between good and bad bacteria.
Or what about probiotics? I read of some people recommending those. What do you think? Are there ways to get that balance back? That would be so interesting to know.

I'm trying probiotics now. I notice my breath is good. It's actually that I breath out this odor that changes the hour the day. Especially, if I am hungry (empty stomach can make you breath out a bad odor from your esophagus) . I also have tooth *pockets & usually have a great friends smell inside my mouth. I'm told it doesn't smell.
My new GI said if I don't have enough fiber, eat yogurt, good probiotics--- things can back up & produce poo breath or vomit breath. Even though i eat healthy & drink water. He concluded this bc I don't have silent reflux or acid reflux.
I do have a tiny *hernia. I need to make sure I have a complete bowel movement in the morning otherwise I breath out this poo odor. It's embarrassing & hassle. In the mornings I'm drinking water, aloe juice, L-glutamine, probiotic, yogurt & breakfast.
I did an anticandida diet for months. I finally had my ent test me for oral Candida & I dint have it. I may have balanced this back to my normal. I'm still pending for second stool results.
I hope my suggestions helped look into something you may have not otherwise.

I was reading on another website that some people with lactose intolerant have bad breath but I'm not sure what type of smell is that could be "poo"?
Some people stop daily and suger products help reduce the bad breath.
I will try not having any suger and daily products and see if my breath will improve.
Someone report no tongue coating after stop consuming suger and daily products.
Google lactose intolerant.

Whenever I noticed the "BB" , I've had really good friends smell inside my mouth & it doesn't stink. But when I step outside and breath out, I get looks & covered noses from the public. Which leads me to believe it's internal.
I've checked lungs & other organs but I'm healthy.

A good friend of mine (pharmacist) managed to get his hands on fluconazole and he knows how much I need it and so he was able to get some for me. I will start the therapy on the 24/10/2015 because he stays quiet far so I can only get the medication then. I feel bad to say that I self diagnosed myself. (all my doctors don't even want to talk to me anymore they think I need a psychologist) I wish I was halitophobic but no I have BB that reaches the sky so bad it scares my cats-. I scored 140 in the candida questionnaire and I have symptoms of it and quiet honestly I'm desperate. I have researched to find the correct dosage and durations and found that I will have to take 200mg day 1 and 100mg day2-day14. looking forward to it.

I feel helpless. All broken. Don't know how to carry on with life. All i do is just wake up. Face the world and survive. This is hurting to a maximum limit.
I went to almost all doctors out here. ENT Dentist And My last hope is an Medicine doctor. I've completely lost all hopes.
All i could diagnose myself is that I am having excessive dryness in mouth. May be Sjogren's syndrome. But that too I am thinking because google says it. My last hope is medicine doctor. Lets see if i survive

Warm Sinus rise helps with my dry mouth. I suck the sticky mucus with the sinus rinse into my mouth, swirl it around my mouth to collect the mucus on my tongue and spit out
