Bad Cymbalta heartburn and reflux

Hello,
I have been on Cymbalta now for 2 weeks for Anxiety and also Chronic pain. for over a year now i have been dealing with stomach pains and acid reflux. probably linked to the anxiety because they all started around the same time. that being said im an overweight 25 year old male with fatty liver so im sure that doesnt help...although i have been eating much better!
Anyways my Doctor just put me on Cymbalta and so far its been really great! finding my Anxiety is getting much better and even my pain (mostly in my ribs)
However the last few days ive been getting very bloated in the day and waking up with a very gunky feeling in my throat and regurgitating food back up when i eat.
My question is can Cymbalta be making my reflux worse? if so will it get better?
Thanks for your time
Tim

Hallo Tim... Sorry you are having problems....with the cymbalta..and yes Tim it is widely known....that this drug in particular can increase the problems of Reflux.....and sounds like that will be what is causing
Y our stomach problems....to.get worse.... and cause you added symptoms.....often when you suffer from.reflux....its very hard...to take other medication ....with out problems.....due to the stomach been sore ...due to the reflux problem...i have suffered reflux....caused from hiatus hernia...for 40 years....and find it hard...to take other meds...
....do go.back to your Dr......and tell him of your problem.....and hopefully he can give you something else which will.help your stress...with out side effects.....ask if there are any relaxation classes for stress related problems in your area.....which. can often help more than tablets.......or a therapist .....who can help.with stress related problems often works better than pills....having constant reflux...is very stressful...i suffer too.....but it then makes the reflux worse.....relaxation exercise...is the key!!...if you.can find some one ...who can guide you ..ask.at the surgery where you go...they....might be able to.help.you......take good care.... Dont give up!!....do.all you can....to.get the help.you need.....its out there.....ask around....feel sure you will.find help......Best Regards....Shirley
