Bad few weeks with meniers

So I've been under quite a bit of personal and professional stress lately, like many of us I imagine and haven't been sleeping well for weeks. However my Meniere's has been treating me fairly ok until about 3 weeks ago. Tinnitus went up a good notch and noticeable hearing loss in left ear. In the last 3 days I've had dizzy spells that affect my vision but after taking valium and sleeping I feel ok. My shoulders and neck are very rigid due to stress too. Could this be a factor? Im just wondering if what's happening is normal and temporary or should I be running to ear specialist? Any advice would be truly welcome. stay strong everyone.

Peter, my first symptoms occurred 15 years ago and when I lost the hearing in my left ear I panicked. The doctor sent me to an ear specialist and he told me I had Meniers. He put me on a diruretic and told me I would eventually go deaf in the ear and there was no cure. I asked about the tinnitus and he told me he could cut the nerve and that would end the ringing. Of course that would be it for ever hearing again. Since then I have avoided doctors and just lived with it but I'm always hoping for a cure. Every two or three times a year I lose my hearing compleatly in my left ear. Point being... good luck running to an "ear specialist". They do nothing but charge you. Recently my vertigo attacks have gotten worse which is why I'm here on the forum. I'm hoping people here may have some remedies they have come across

Peter, luckily I have been virtually free of the vertigo attacks etc for the last two years. Unfortunately I then had a massive vertigo attack about six weeks ago and since then I have had a return of all the usual symptoms including tinnitus, ear fullness etc etc which doesnt appear to be getting any better. Trying to keep my head still causes stiffness in the neck and head and I keep hoping it will soon go away. It seems that this is something that generally goes with menieres and I hope yours starts to ease off soon.
