Bad near & intermediate vision after Panoptix Multifocal

Hey all,
Looking for some insight. I had developed cataracts in 2018 at 34 yrs of age in my Dominant Eye. Recently had surgery on 6/18/20 with Alcon Panoptix put in. 3 days later i had pretty good distance 20/30 and holding at that 10 days after surgery.
However my near and intermediate is pretty poor. I cant read my phone and anything within 15 feet is blurry. Am I over worrying? Is this normal? Or if not has anyone had something similar as me and have near improve over time.
I have larger than normal pupils (not sure how many mm, but I read that large pupils dont do well with multifocal lenses. If thats the case, I feel ripped off for the $4k surgery and at this rate I would have just gotten monofocal at distance and have better near and intermediate than what i have now.
Please let me know if I'm just impatient. One of the staff told me that my vision could stay at where it is, and if necessary do Lasik for another $500 to "fine tune" my vision.
thanks everyone!

Hi, I had cataract surgery with Panoptix Oct 2019. First eye went very well. Day one I had very good distance, but NO near. However, that changed. It was like my brain figured out how to tune into the near, and suddenly near came in too!
Second eye was done two weeks later. Now on that eye, there was a problem, because the doctor saw a scratch on the lens during surgery, and she had to extract it and put in another lens. That seemed to traumatize the eye. Day 1 - I couldn't read anything on eyechart AND the vision was very blurry for at least a week. Apparently, I had some corneal edema. Thankfully, it resolved, because it was stressful, even though the doctor said it would improve.
I noticed you are only 34, and I am 63, and had been wearing progressive eyeglasses for years. So my brain was used having a multi-focal experience. It may take you a little longer to adapt, but if you have the panoptix, you should be receiving images from three distances, and sooner or later my guess would be that your brain may start to recognize this and neuroadapt. Personally, I would wait on any Lasik. Some people may just take a longer time to adjust to the new lenses.
I wish you a lot of success. Just give it some time!

I had cataract surgery June 2020 multifocal iol's my eyes were overcorrected +1:00 had prk then yag and another prk on both eyes in Feb. 2022 my vision us now -75 in both eyes. after nearly $9000 out if pocket the Dr tells me his hands are tied the board want let them do anything else. the tech did my eye exam before cataract surgery. Can prk surgery be done again by the right Dr. to fix my distant vision?

You can perform multiple PRK's for as long as there is enough cornea left, so it's up to your doctor to determine that. I'd get multiple opinions. But frankly at the point you're at I personally would just wear spectacles. But if that's not an option for some reason, I am not a medical professional but I personally would then consider a lens exchange with the Light Adjustable Lens (LAL). After implantation and healing the lens can be tuned to account for the unpredictable performance that can result from the difficulties in calculating power for eyes that have had PRK. You may still need spectacles for some activities. However, being two years out from your surgery increases the risk of complications in a lens exchange. Even greater risk with YAG having been performed already. So really, I personally would just wear spectacles.
