Bad News!! 😫😥

Well today I went to see my surgeon. I'm 3 weeks out. He had X-rays done and found out I dislocated my hip!!?? After speaking to him I think we figured out when & how... About 2 weeks ago I was taking a shirt out of my drawer. I was not facing the drawer so I was twisted toward my left side, I had thr on the right. When I proceeded to close the drawer I noticed a kind of sharp pain in my right buttock. I thought "oh sh*t what was that?!?" I had pain on that buttock for several days and when I talked to my therapist she felt I pulled a muscle since the pain went away. Only thing is as time went on I have been unable to put weight on that leg. Last Thursday and Friday I was in a lot of pain. But for the most part I have been putting some pressure on that leg, stand on both legs and do my exercises. Dr was amazed!! So hippies it's VERY IMPORTANT TO TWIST LEFT OR RIGHT!! Always stay straight in whatever you are doing!! Has this happened to anyone else?? I will be going back in the OR Thursday to see if he can pop back in without having to cut me again. Under local anesthesia. Y me??? ??

Wow!!! I thought it would have been more painful than that...I know I sometimes lean to the side to pick something up and remember about turning and bending..
Good Luck, I hope they don't have to cut you...

Thank you! That's what I was told, very painful, but here I am. I must say that I am a bit more in pain today and can't seem to get comfortable. I'm also worried about tomorrow.

What approach did you have and was it uncemented? is it the cup that moved or the ball joint? Mine was done in May 2015 anterior approach uncemented...
I will pray for you, and hope that you'll recover fully...

Lora I had the anterior in not cemented. The cup is screwed in, it was the ball joint. I'm wondering if this wasn't something going on early on because after I got home every time I would get up take a few steps the joint would click. Was like that for a few days. Nurse or therapist never gave me real reason why this was happening. It really didn't hurt just felt weird. I don't know it's not clear to me really when this happened. Thank you for the prayers I really appreciate it. Tomorrow afternoon I'll know what approach he did! ????

Thanks for the good advice. It's something we should all remember in terms of twisting Prayers to you that all goes well. I feel confident your surgeon will be able to help you without further surgery.
Sending hugs and prayers.

Renee I knew about the bending, not going over 90 degrees while sitting or standing, to not kick my operated leg back, but the twisting I did not know! I'm still baffled when it happened. I do remember when I was taking a shirt outta my drawer I was not facing the drawer, I twisted to the left to open the drawer, get my shirt and close it that's when I felt something in right hip. My r cheer was hurting all that day when I walked on it and for cpl of days. Therapist didn't think it was serious since by that time I pain went away and I was able to do exercises and walk some. That's when she told me that you should face whatever it is you doing not twist, she also said since I twisted opposite of operated leg I was ok and probably pulled a muscle. Surgeon told me yesterday that there's no twisting left or right!!! ??????

I know that this no twisting was important because my surgeon made a big deal about it and literally showed me how to turn - tap-tap-tap baby steps turning the whole body - but it is so easy to forget when you "just" want to get something behind you - automatically you turn your body when feet are not facing object --
don't be too hard on yourself darling ---
good luck today -
sending you healing and
angel blessings

It'll be good. Whatever they have to do to fix it, you'll bounce right back. Ur incredibly tough and strong to have been walking around like that for days.
