Bad Side Effects of Sertraline

Posted , 7 users are following.

I started taking 50mg for anxiety and depression a week and a half ago and I feel terrible!

I have no appetite, I'm shakey, anxious and all I want to do is cry and sleep.

I've hardly left my house and I'm so tired all the time I can't get anything done.

I have headaches most all the time and I just feel so "off".

I don't feel very good and it's effecting my relationships, should I continue to take them and give it some time? Will my appetite come back?

I'm already thin so losing weight isn't doing my any good whatsoever.

I just want to feel better and be normal again.

You will feel better. The first month or so my anxiety and panic was skyrocketing. Didn't feel hungry at all. 50 mg of zoloft worked for me for over 20 years. I had to raise my dose to 100mg and tough getting through. I am at Day 31 and I am getting glimmers of being normal. Mornings I still wake up with bad anxiety so I break a .25 xanax in half and it helps. It takes 6 to 8 weeks to kick in fully. Just take one day at a time. I take a 5 mg of melatonin at night and fall asleep for 7.5 hours. This past month I was not able to socialize with friends,to anxious to be around others. If you can get some vigorous exercise every day it helps. Keep with it and your mood will turn around.

Sorry to hear you are going through this. Sertraline is a tough one. I came off it after about 9 days as I couldn't cope with the side effects. Being thin too, the weight loss was very concerning. Withdrawal wasn't pleasant.

I got switched to Citelapram and doing a lot better strangely. No real side effects so far, the difference is amazing.

All I can say is you know your body and it's a massive trail and error with these tablets as to what your body can take to.

Thank you for all the replies. I'm actually starting to feel better.

I started taking half a pill at night and half in the morning and that seems to be working for me.

My headaches are gone now and I almost feel like I want to go out into society.

I'm not quite there yet but I think I will be soon.
