Bad sinus problem which affects taste

I have had sinus problems for about thirty years, and I have had surgery to remove polyps (years ago). I have read all the posts on this forum, and I don't see anyone referring to a loss of taste. When my sinus gets blocked up, I completely lose my taste (for food). It has often caused me to cancel dinner appointments, as the food just doesn't appeal and I am eating for the sake of it. I am just at the end of three weeks sinus attack, so have had that loss of taste on and off for three weeks, mostly on. With it comes a metalic feeling in my mouth, thirst, and a very strong sense of smell (I hate perfumes, bins, any smell really during a sinus attack). I use a homeopathic remedy which I got from my (wonderful) reflexologist and it helps a little. Reflexology helps too, and he always knows when my sinus are bad. This last spell has worn me down completely - I would come in from work and go straight to bed and sleep. I am exhausted, and I feel that the sinus issue has finally worn me down. Would welcome any replies from fellow-sufferers, really want to know if others have the lack of taste/metalic feeling/thirst (oh and a headache too). No wonder all us sinus sufferers are feeling so low - it's a lot to live with, and it doesn't garner a lot of sympathy, as we are all functioning normally, working, running homes, rearing children, etc. Thank you for reading this.

I do not have the lack of taste but I have read that is definitely one of the symptoms. But I hear u this is definitely an ailment that unless u go through it u have no idea. On the outside u look great but in the inside ur head, eye r hears r so inflammed and causing pain. Along with the tired and blah feeling. I like u have tried many things and as of this point I have not found anything that has giving me long term help. My worst is upon waking up from sleep at night r a nap. Some days I just want to stay in bed all day. But with responsibilities that is hard to do. I know I don't have answers for u I wish I did.

Thank you. Going back to medical assistance, though it won't give a permanent solution. Antihistamines and/or antibiotics initially. A good doctor helps too. Thanks for replying.
