Hi Karen, I haven't experienced it but there are a few things I know of that can cause it.. vit d or zinc deficiency also gum disease ( could be an early sign of bone thinning) so if you are taking your calcium and vit d3 supplements it may just disappear whilst taking prednisolone

I woke up a few months ago to absolutely terrible coffee.  Was it my coffee, the creamer or my water conditioner?    I almost called out a water expert when I realized it was me:  I had acid reflex because I was trying to reduce the amount of Nexium I was taking!

Some people on pred do complain of a metallic taste in their mouth although doctors usually say it isn't due to the pred - not that that means much. Pred does taste disgusting if you keep it in your mouth long at all before swallowing and it persists.

I think I had a taste in my mouth with PMR but without pred - and blamed the postnasal drip I had at the time which I suspect was part of the PMR.

    Hi Karen

For a short period of time i had the metalic taste also. I thought it was from my vitamins since it seemed to happen after taking them. I don't get it daily now just on occasion.

I do!! Had ALL my fillings pulled out and replaced with non metal. After that the metal taste went but has been replaced with a bitter taste. It must be the prednisone or the tamazepam I take for sleep.
