Bad taste/ Severe Fatigue

For quite some time now I have been delaing with a bad taste in my mouth and chronic fatigue.I go to the dentist regulary and even had my wisdom teeth removed. I have been to an ENT specialist who ordered a CT scan which can back negative. He also looked at my tonsils and saw nothing. I have been to GI specilist who performed a endoscopy and found nothing. He put me on acid reflux meds but I saw very little change. I reccommended a parasite test and we are still waiting on the results. In the mean time I researched Candida and saw my primary doctor regarding this issue. He put me on diflucan for a week and I noticed very little change. He also had me get an MRI and we are waiting on the results. He also suggested I go to a neruologist to be safe. In the meantime I have been doing cocnut oil pulling trying to reduce bacteria. Has anyone else had this same issue? I am quite frustrated and really need to find some answers. My blood work has come back fine in labs but I've often wondered if I should go to kidney specialist? Anything helps at this point. Thanks.

Hi ican relate to how you are feeling as I have experienced some of what you have written.Like you I have always been regularly to my dentist and I have always maintained regular dental hygiene. So I was appalled to discover that for some reason my tooth enamel had deteriorated drastically very quickly. My dentist had never mentioned it and when it occurred could not even give me a reason for why it was happening.Prior to this I would wake up with thick mucus in my mouth each morning but I just adjusted to it happening and I carried on using my mouth wash.Just like you again I kept going to see my doctor as I was having all kinds of strange feelings and his first reaction was to put me on pils for anxiety.Long story short after numerous visits to see him the penny suddenly dropped and he diagnosed acid reflux.Although he still never mentioned that my lose of tooth enamel was another indication of this. After waiting weeks to see a Consultant I was then given an endoscopy which found my stomach was inflammed but he could not tell me why.As a consequence of that I have been given several kinds of pills to take but none of which seem to have solved the problem.Whilst taking these pills I have had the awful taste you mention in my mouth and although not chronic I seem to tire quite easily.Even though I do try and maintain my fitness by cycling daily.Because of this I am going to see my Consultant again tomorrow to hopefully get this issue investigated even more.

What you also mention I find interesting is that you have been advised to see a neurologist because when all this started I was sent to see one as I was experiencing pinsand neddles in my toes which by the way I still get and would you believe because one of my kidneys is not functioning 100% my doctor is monitoring it.So by what you say all of this may actually be related to my illness which I never realised.

Just like you I too feel very frustrated and I only hope that we both get the answers we require very quickly. Until then keep your chin up. Oh and why I dont know but I find chewing gum relieves that awful taste in my mouth.

Sounds good. I will be going to the neurologist soon and maybe I will find out more. Look forward to hearing from you.

Also are you still currently dealing with mucus in the morning and some throughout the day? I often wondered about going to a third ENT to try and get some more answers. I've always wondered about nasil drip and that maybe I haven't been properly diagnosed.

Hi again.. Well as I said I would I am letting you know how I got on with the Consultant.

He listened to what I had to say and I described how I was feeling which is much as the same as you.I told him that I am constantly chewing gum and he said that its easing the burning sensation because of the saliva it creates. He said that I should continue to take the pantoprazole and ranitidine but to take an additional dose of ranitidine in the morning. He is also going to get my gp to prescribe an additional drug but I cannot remember the name of it. To ensure it is acid reflux I am suffering from he is going to arrange for me to have the test which involves a tube being inserted up my nose at a hospital in London. I can't say I am looking forward to that. He also asked whether I would be agreeable to surgery being carried out and I said I would be if it really needed to be done. I have read on here good and bad reports of it and given the bugs you can get in hospitals its not something I am keen to have done.So the saga continues. To put things in to some context though as I was going in to see the Consultant a fella came out who clearly had no voice box so my problems are definitely minor to his.
