Bad thoughts every day

I've been on sertraline for about a month now. First as 25mg, then 50mg, now 100mg. It hasn't  seemed to touch my mood (100mg for a week), should I give it longer? I'm having suicidal thoughts every day but not sure if they'd even increase the dose and just say "wait" but as you know the thoughts are terrifying...

    Hi,

I'm on 100mg give it another week. In the mean time call your GP as

Mine told me the maximum dose is 200mg if your have suicidal thoughts. Hang in there.. here if you need

To talk, ask questions. Take care.

Hey. Yeah I'm trying so hard and making a diary etc. I mean, it's touching it, but it's not as consistant as I'd like it to be. Thanks, and you.

A month is relatively short and as you've only been on your current dose for about a week, you're not going to be feeling the benefits yet, just startup side effects. So you're bound to feel worse for a bit, but give it a few weeks and you'll start to see some improvement. It's hard I know, but just take one day at a time and try to keep busy, plan to do things and see friends so you always have something to think about and look forward to.

If you're having suicidal thoughts then you should speak to someone - you can call Samaritans or make an appointment with your GP. Definitely worth getting referred for therapy too if you haven't already. You'll feel better soon.

Yeah it is pretty short. However a few weeks ago I did something responding to my thoughts (I was on 75mg at the time) Yeah, before hand I was on 25/50mg so they said the suicidal thoughts aren't a side effect of it and it's just my depression. Thank you for your positivity. I have a lot of backup plans now. I'm currently doing a type of therapy and starting another next Monday. Thanks for your reply.
