My 16 year old granddaughter has bags under her eyes, what could cause this?

    Well the obvious answer is lack of sleep. Is she screen gazing late into the night?

    Hi Theresa, it's very nice of you to be worried about your granddaughter's health.

    Well, bags under the eyes can have a few causes: poor night's sleep, allergic reactions, lack of nutrients and vitamins.

    It can also simply be a small accumulation of fat.

    You need to help your granddaughter discover the cause by elimination. Ask her how she has been sleeping, if she has been eating well, if she has been getting enough sun.

    If you can't identify it, and if other symptoms are associated, see a general practitioner or your family doctor.
