Bakers cyst still there after tkr

Hi everyone just wondering if anyone has same problem. I am 7 week post op and doing well upto now BUT I had bakers cysts before op and it is still there and interfering with bending of knee. It makes my calf very tight and although knee is obviously preventing knee bend ( it's 102 at moment) the cyst is holding it back too. I was hoping the cyst would have gone with the new knee op Has anyone else had similar experience. Linda x

Yes Linda I had exactly the same thing.  Mine disappeared at around nine weeks.    Don't fret though, they can hang around for months.  Good luck

Hi Linda, my tkr was 5 mths ago, when they drained a large Baker's cyst. It came back within a couple of weeks, smaller but very hard, which really got in the way. I was told if or when it dissolved of it's own accord I would feel a lot of pain down my calf. It's gradually disappeared over the past month, with no pain!

Best of luck, and don't be too hard on yourself.

Aw thanks. I hope mine goes soon ! I'm sure it's that which is stooping me straightening and bending knee fully as my calf goes so tight , I feel it's that holding me back rather than my knee at moment. Don't you just wish you could wave a magic wand !

Magic wand, genie in a bottle, a nose that twitches - I'm with you, Linda. It's a shame we mere mortals have to make do with ice packs, hard work & clenched teeth.
