balance problems causes??inner ear ???stress

I have had balance problems over a year ago it lasted 4 months and consultant said it was inner ear damage. I was free from it for over a year. But have got it back. I am unable to walk normally and have an off balance feeling so much so I have hurt my foot. I am wondering now having had this for 3 months again if stress is the cause..I know this sensation causes stress. How can you tell what is causing what?? This is a constant feeling for me and not the result of panic attacks. Although I get respite usually from lying down. I know many on here have a battle to persuade doctors that it is not stress caused.. but I am starting to wonder if it is possibly the cause of my balance problem. I am open to any suggestions at this point. I just want to feel normal again.. I had a hearing test which was normal and I am going for balance tests. will these tests be able to answer this?

i totally sympathise with u? I got this in december! Three weeks ago it went by magic. I was so happy. Went back to work etc. Then... Last week back it came? I'm told by the docs that's the nature of this virus, but very fed up of it now.

    Hi

I've had this dizzy feeling since January, I had a virus and it caused me to feel dizzy, off balance, in a dream like state.. It's been awful. It comes and goes, I have a few days respite and then it comes back again.

My way of dealing with it:

Try to think positive, you know it's not life threatening, so I literally talk to myself, this seems to help..

Drinking ginger tea (about 3 cups a day)

    Eating regular meals

    Reflexology

Aromatherapy (peppermint and lavender behind the ears)

    Deep breathing

Vicks (sounds strange I know) on the back of the neck and rubbed in the feet

If you can, a cat nap in the afternoon

I also take antihistamine every day

After months of feeling like this, I had to do my own research and self diagnosis.. My hairdresser was saying she's had 6 clients in with the same symptoms.. I really do believe it was a nasty virus or flu that caused this.. So fingers crossed, it will get better, I still get my dizzy spells, but all the above seem to alleviate it and unfortunately I have no faith in my GP

    Wishing you better 0:-) xxx

Hi I was told I had a virus 3 other people where I work had the same but they recovered much more quickly...I just can't understand why it's taking me so long to feel right. But perhaps it's because I've had inner ear damage in the past. Thanks for your tips I shall try them ginger I believe does help. I also chew raw garlic. Thanks again hope you soon feel better 😊
