Balanitis? Friction rash?

Ive had a slight red rash on the base of my glans for the past few weeks. its not especially painful and there is no bad smell, but it does feel a little dry. Thought it might be balanitis so I bought some Canesten and have been cleaning, drying thoroughly and applying it 3x daily for the past 4 days, with little improvement. Also have slight redness towards the meatus as you can see from the pictures.

When dry, the skin at the bottom of my glans becomes wrinkly and is not as smooth as the rest of the skin. I have recently been sexually active, and having sex (with condom) or masturbating seems to make the redness worse.

Any idea if this is balanitis or just friction related?

I have a similar situation. My dermatologist said it was contact dermititis, but no creams have helped. I have been dealing with it for around 6 months and nothing seems to make it go away.

Like Matt, you have a skin reaction - no always easy to distinguish the cause, or to get the right thing to change for the better

Often the only thing to do is to return your penile skin to its base, start point, and that means the ONLY should contact the skin is water for cleaning - exclude everything else, try this for 3 or 4 months to start with - avoiding sex and masturbation usually provides a huge positive benefit .....
