Balanitis or something else?

Posted , 6 users are following.

I've been having this on my penis for about 9 months. It started with a red area in the top of the head that came only after having sex or masturbating. Now is like this all the time. I tested positive for Herpes type 1. I've seen two different urologists and two different infectologists and they all say that it's balanitis but not herpes related. I have tried antifungal creams and pills, steroid creams, homeopathic creams, coconut oil, but nothing works. I also have two small bumps in my scrotum.

hey mate, sounds similar to me. what was the trigger? Do you know the person who you had sex with? have you asked them if they have HSV1? did you have oral? have you ever had a coldsore?

I don't know when I got hsv 1 and I never had any cold sores, just ulcers inside my mouth since I was a teenager. I was tested for herpes on September 2022 for the first time in my life. And it was a positive result. By that time I already had balanitis symptoms. I've been dealing with a lot of anxiety and depression before the balanitis symptoms started. During that time I also had unprotected oral sex, so probably that's the reason behind it.

im not sure what im doing wrong, but i wont try and upload photos of my glans. my testicle pain seems to have lessoned after 7 weeks, I still sweat alot easier. Do you guys recall these symptoms? I am at 7 weeks since my last hook up, ill wait 5 more weeks to get tested again. Have you guys been able to have intercourse in a steady relationship and not given them any symptoms?

Three months after, almost the same. Seen a dermatologist two months ago, told me to change soaps and laundry detergent. And if in three months there's no improvement, the next step will be a biopsy.
