Balanitis still going on even after applying Canesten

Hi guys! I have been seeing a symptom of foreskin redness for more than a month and was diagnosed with balanitis by GP 2 weeks ago. Since then, I have been applying Canesten as prescribed by GP and the situation is not getting vastly improved. Penis still becomes red after masturbation. I really need your help.

    ... it would be better if you can post a photo taken indoors in clear daylight, such as next to a window, so that the detail can be seen in the photo.

    What a GP will often do is prescribe the most likely thing that will resolve the most likely cause of what has caused the problem - this is not always the case, the symptoms could be caused by something the medication cannot deal with, or there are complicating factors that cause the redness.

    So, are you sexually active, if so, do you have one regular partner? Do you use condoms everytime. if you are sexually active?

    What to do: you need to abstain form masturbation until this issue is resolved as that will only make the irritation far worse. ONLY wash your penis with water and carefully fully dry all your penile skin after washing or after taking a shower. When you shower draw your foreskin as far away from your body as can to cover and protect the head of your penis - wash and fully rinse everywhere else on your body first, do not apply ANY soap or shower gel or other forms of body wash to your penis. Then expose the head of the penis and use warm - never hot - running water and the inside of your hand and fingertips to clean the head and inner-foreskin of your penis with. CAREFULLY fully dry all your penile skin so that no moisture remains, do this with a clean dry towel that only you use.

      Thank you so much for the reply!

      I just went to the GP again the other day and he told me that he could still see some fungi on the penis. He then told me to wash the penis more carefully and dry it after shower before applying the cream on the penis for best result and suggested me to try to do that for another week. Right now I am hoping that I will go away and I will abstain from masturbation.

      Concerning sexual activity, I am not very active and the last time that I had sex was 2 months ago (of course using condom even when receiving head).

      Hope that the condition will get better or the doctor will have to do a swab test next week.
