Balanitis - Worth try Fluconazole tablets?

Posted , 4 users are following.

Used an online doctor and a GUM clinic as I could not get an appointment with a GP who diganosied Balanitis

Gum clinic said to use Clotrimazole 1% Cream for 1 week with moisturiser in the morning as the head was very dry / cracked - cleared up slightly and then a couple of days later returned

the online doctor recommended Daktarin for a week again the treatments seem to work to settle the issue then on the 7th day it reoccurs. its a red sore rash .

Had a STI test and all clear - not sure if the cream is working .

Is it worth ordering fluconazole tablets or should I consult a doctor again just that I cannot afford to pay for another online doctor just to be told to use the tablets?

Don't say STI all clear, what tests have you done and methods? There are many sti which is uncommon and sometimes common sti doesn't get detected by traditional methods.

fully agree.. there might be STIs which are not in the list of commonly prescribed tests.. docs just see a negative test report and immediately start assuming its just a fungal infection.. at least thats what my experience has been unfortunately.
