Ball of foot...

I have strange feet, for want of a better term, in the fact that mytoes don't touch the floor when I walk this causes painfull

calluses and hard skin to form. It also causes my shoes to have

an indent where that part of the foot sits in the shoe.

I have seen a podiatrist twice who gave me a pair of insoles that

have a bump in them that is supposed to put pressure on the

Underside of the foot to flatten it when I walk which work to

some degree. I was wondering if anyone else has this problem

and how you deal with it.

I have this problem especially my right foot, as I have had high arches all my life. I went to my doctor a few years ago and he said that there wasn't anything he could do as the metertarsal head had dropped. I am now in the process of finding gel arches to wear inside trainers or shoes with thicker soles usually give me some respite from this, if I am going out for the evening I wear gel spots or similar under the most painful areas. I hope this is of use.

Thank you for taking the time to reply.

Looks like insoles are going to be the only things that will help

with the problem which is ok when I wear shoes...but trying to sort something out for sandals is a nightmare as the insoles

      don't stay put.

It is a nightmare when wearing sandals but I do usually wear gel cushions or gel spots under the areas where the hard skin is, in my case on the ball of my foot at the base of my big and little toes, these do work for me but I do have to replace them after a while.
