Balloon Sinuplasty

Hello all, I had the Balloon Sinuplasty procedure done yesterday and I wanted to know how long it takes for your sinuses to finally drain after they are opened. Does it take several days or a couple weeks?

I'm hoping to get some relief from the constant pain and pressure in my ears (with constant crackling) that I've had for over a couple months now, that's why I went with this procedure. The ENT said after a week I should start to see some improvement. Hoping for the best.

If you don't mind me asking what were your symptoms prior

Dizziness, light headed (almost vertigo feeling when walking), intense pressure in ears and temples, crackling in my ears, pain in head/ears.

I did have sinusitis prior to this which took awhile to go away with different antibiotics and steroids. I always get every year 2-4 times. I have a deviated septum, which doesn't help. Now I have this terrible pressure/crackling in my ears which I've delt with for almost 2 months straight without relief.

See I have those symptoms my sphenoid sinuses are full but they say antibiotics will take care of it and I'm now three days off them and still have symptoms

I had to look that up, I never heard of the sphenoid sinuses. Sounds pretty serious from what I just read.

I'm hoping that with my issue everything continues to drain and this crackling/pressure goes away. I did see an allergist a few weeks ago and he recommended allergy shots. I only held off because I wanted to see what the balloon sinuplasty would do. I think I'm gonna move forward with that next.

Hey, it's been almost 2 weeks. It has helped as far as my sinuses draining a bit. As far as the pressure, popping, crackling in my ear... Very slightly. I go to my ENT today for a follow-up, so I'm interested to hear what he has to say. I did start taking supplements and vitamins this week to see if it can help a bit. Tumeric, echinachia, probiotics... I'm willing to try anything to make this stop.

Yea, if you have ETD, all I have to say is see an ENT and get a second opinion on top of that. Look for natural remedies, look into your diet, anything. Unfortunately when you go on these message boards, you never seem to be able to find anyone that has had success beating ETD... Which is crazy.

One person on another board mentioned they grind their teeth and have bruxism, and that was a contributor.

Allergies... A huge one. I saw an allergist and I'm allergic to everything apparently, so I'm gonna look to get allergy shots, but.. it takes awhile for you to see any benefit.

It's been 2 months for me... I don't know how some of these folks have gone, months, years, decades with this... I'm determined to beat it.

I don't have all the same symptoms as you, but again I'm determined to beat this.

100% sure we both will get over this. my main worry is holding my job down
