Good luck with your op. I've just had my band done & I was told in some cases the doctors refuse to operate if you haven't lost the necessary weight but I don't know if that's true or not. I managed to lose 9lb. I lived on milk & yogurts for a week

I've had no issues at all. The op was a breeze and I've had no trapped wind or discomfort. I was back at work 5 days post op. In fact other than my appetite not been what it was I don't feel any different at all. Don't worry you will be fine.

So... how much have you got to/want to lose? I have a lot riding on this... heathwise, financially. Lots of pressure!

Do not worry about the op, I was so scared when I was going for mine but it was absolutely fine, and practically painless just uncomfortable the worst bit of mine was the trapped air in my shoulder afterwards but peppermint tea and moving about gets rid of it in no time! I'm almost 4 weeks post op, and I did not do the pre op diet as I was considered a low risk patient as my BMI is 31.

The reason they ask you to do the diet is to lighten your liver to make the surgery easier, and to prepare you for the liquid diet you will be on after op.

    Best of luck

    B x

You will if you stay on your diet. I lost 12 lb before I went in. It's been 3 weeks today since I started my shake diet and 1 week in today since my band was fitted. I now have lost 17 lb so getting there. Hope all goes well for you x
