Band op done

Posted , 5 users are following.

Hi had my band op done on Wednesday, all went well and discharged home the same day. Post op I've had no nausea of vomiting but also no appetite for the diet plan I'm supposed to follow which is liquid diet for 1 wk - soups/shakes. Is this normal?? I had 1 shake yesterday with lots of tea/water and bit of juice. Today I've had half bowl of soup with juice/tea/water. Am tolerating it well but just not hungry. Have appointment on guesday with the nurse to have all my clips removed.

Has anyone else felt like this??

Yes it was about 5 days before i even thought of food but i knew my body needed something so I used to sip a glass of milk with an actimel yoghurt added to it to make sure I was getting some goodness x

The clips are like staples! Weren't expecting them, expected wounds to be closed with glue or stitches. Have 4 small wounds and 1 large one with bout 8-10 clips which I guess is where the port is.

Mine was closed with glue and dissolvable stitches and are healing well. How are the clips?

The clips are ugly! Scarring will be worse but guess I can't do anything bout IT now!! Will use the bio oil once they heal.

Curious about what diet plans people followed post op. Mind is liquid -soups/shakes/fruit juice. Can't bear the slim fast shakes, so gonna try some fruit shakes Tom but they r less protein. I fancied something a little more substantial (!) and something to chew so just had A hash brown! Really not on the diet plan but it was nice!! Will see how this sits!!

Lol that's how I feel now about the shakes!! Had the op on wed 25th! I'm not hungry, am making myself have the soups and what shakes I can face! Am conscious that I'm not having enough protein as that's what they drummed into us at the 1st appointment, should have 60g, each shake is around 15g, I managed 1 and 1/2 today 😏 when was urs??
