Notes on Banding

I'm 6 days post banding. I had stage 4 haemorrhoids (both internal and external, lucky me). My GI specialist said he could do the banding whilst performing a colonoscopy. I had 3 banded in total. I had severe pain later in the night following the procedure. It was awful. Aching, pinching pain that was not relieved by the painkillers I was given.
I booked in to my GP first thing in the morning and was prescribed some stronger painkillers which lucky worked for me. I took them in conjunction with ibuprofen and paracetamol regularly. Check out my post 'Advice for pain post haemorrhoid banding' if you want some more of my tips for dealing with it. The constipation and pain with motions was certainly a challenge too.
In saying this, at day 6 I'm feeling much better, have not had any bleeding yet (there is some to be expected after the banding cuts off the blood supply and the haemorrhoids fall off). I am aware too that not everyone has the same experience, some people have little to no pain, it really depends on what stage they are and how many are banded.
