Banding

Hi guys,
I'm back again ! 7 days ago I had banding for two further piles that the NHS didn't want to treat privately however now when I fart or try to pass bowel movement all that passes is bright red blood I'm very worried what could the bleeding be ?.
I read online there are no complications of banding so I'm wondering why I'm still bleeding 😔

I saved a page on this when my surgeon said he banded some of mine
Its a fact sheet from Guys Hospital
Bleeding is expected and is the main risk of banding - I have sent you a PM as we cant post links here
Hope it helps

Thank you for your reply I'm now 17 days post banding but today when I passed bowel movement there was blood and mucus do you think I'm still healing ? I've had colonoscopy and so far 5piles treated

Mine never bled though but I always have regular soft daily bowel movements throughout (The Beauty of bran)
You will be fine if its just a little blood but I do believe that this banding method is not all that good and sometimes has to be done again afterwards if not sorted after 6 weeks
If they were big ones then it would take 3-4 weeks anyway for them to drop off - Make sure you dont use Ibroprfen or Aspirin if you bleed though
Lets hope thats just the case (Bet it is)

Done twice so far I had a check up on Saturday and was told all the piles had had home I contacted my surgeon he couldn't tell me where the bleeding was coming from as he said they are normal completely healed in two weeks I've had colonoscopy which was clear apart from piles 😣

So do you mean that your piles had gone on that Saturday checkup? (You did not finish that bit so I think thats what you meant)
I thought that would be too soon to check
Surely you must still have one in there or they have not dropped off yet if there is nothing else wrong in there and certainly nothing serious (as colonoscopy ruled out)
If the blood is just after a bm and is small I would give it another week or so as long as that is all it is and you are not in pain and try not to worry (easier said than done - sorry)

Because any strain may have burst a few blood vessels in the weakened area (Thats not serious)
You really must stay regular throughout even if it means a stool softner laxative - If you live in UK you can buy Macrogol over the counter
The usual though - Eat High Fibre Diet only BUT LOTS AND LOTS OF WATER or will not work (No White stuff Bread-Rice- Pasta etc)- Wholemeal Breads - Brown Rice - Whole Wheat Pasta Wheat Bran - Wheatgerm - Oat Bran - Jacket Potato -- Dates - Figs - Bananas - Porridge - Apples Oranges and Salads - Not too much Protein -- Boring but its sure worth it!
You want the stuff to virtually drop out of you not have to push
You wont have any problems in the future either

They are just varicous veins and the straining blows them up sorta thing!
If you concentrate on achieving regular soft (Not runny) BM's does not have to be daily but 2 days somettimes depending on how much you eat then you will never have any problems even if they do come back
Eating the right stuff will also empty you (Not feel like theres something still stuck up there) Never more than a gentle push should be required and over and done with in less than 10 seconds
