Barium swallow?

Posted , 5 users are following.

Hi i've been suffering with acid reflux for about a year and for the last 4 months ive been feeling nauseous almost every time all day as well as feeling like somwthing is stuck in the throat.

Yesterday i had the barium swallow test and it all turned out good ( no leakage or blockage) but it showed that i had acid reflux.

Next week I have an appointment as to read the results properly, will I be given something to control the acid which is resulting in nausea?

You can check Sibo and acid reflux and find an explanation.  Sibo can be the root of a lot of problems and one of them its acid reflux. Im glad that i went to another dr and did the test because the gastro only prescribe omeprazole and told me to take it for life.

My reflux its a lot better now with natural suplements. I was taking natural suplements with the omeprazole and didnt work. But after stopping that poison and having a terrible acid rebound the natural suplements really help!!!!

Im going to start my rreatment for Sibo and im going to be on a diet for 3 month to kill the bacteria. After that i will post and update and i really hope the acid reflux stop!

You can check The hidden causes of heartburn an gerd by Chris Kresser to find the explanation. confused

I'm afraid I don't rate Chris Kresser as a specialist doctor. He has no medical training and styles himself a "health detective" promoting a paleo diet because cavemen didn't die of cancer. (They probably did if they lived long enough. Cancer is a disease of old age and most cavemen were dead before they were 30.)

There are popularised articles in "natural health" journals and sites propagating the idea that SIBO causes reflux but no evidence in research studies.

Excess bacteria growth in the small intestines is most probably due to the reduction in acidity that would control its growth, This hypochlorhydria may be induced by PPI over use which explains observed connections bewteen GORD & SIBO but correlation is not causation.

Im not a dr or specialist but suffering acid reflux can really take your life...I hope that my Naturopahic Dr its right and I can have my life back! ...and I know for sure that if I have SIBO i have to treat the problem...if my experience help other Im happy.

After 3 months I will write an update if I dont have bacteria and my acid reflux its gone that means that some of us can find relief from this.

    Have a great day!
