Barium swallow test results

hi everyone

I got a barium swallow test done the other day and it came back that I have a moderate narrowing of my esophagus from a rare artery that shouldn't be behind my esophagus I was born with it apparently and very rare .

see the thing is I just got back from a specialist and he said I would be chocking on food with this narrowing but iam not so I'm really more confused

any one had this type of experience ?

      hi about 3 weeks ago while I was eating the food I est was coming back up into my throat

      apparently the narrow part of my esophagus is under my sternum but I'm not feeling anything getting stuck there

      it's super confusing to me

      and I'm scared to eat it's such a long wait to see a specialist in my area to for a endoscope

      the doctor I seen today said my symptoms are reflux he couldnt explain to me why the foods not getting stuck at the narrowed part

      he said maybe because I've had this artery there since birth that the esophagus has adjusted?

      Yes could be the reason why . And it's good your not having that problem because I've seen s last with this and it's so distressing for her and for me to see
