Barretts and IBS

I've been diagnosed with barretts and currently waiting a manometery ph 24 hour test to see if surgery is an option for me.
I take Omeprazole 20mg 2x a day, which I realise is quite low compared to a lot of people.
However this last week I have been displaying a lot of signs of IBS and wondered if anyone else has both conditions?
I keep feeling bloated, very gassy, I feel constipated but when I go it's actually diarrhea.
I have had a lot of stress this last week with the loss of a friend, could it just be a barretts flare up due to the stress?
Advice please!!!!

Many gut issues can go hand in hand and difficult to work out whatgoes with what, but think it's more IBS.
Try to relax if you can, do something you like that's relaxing maybe play some music, or GO for a walk. (Once the diarrhoea has gone :-) ).
If you get the stomach cramps try buscopan. But if not happy with way your feeling then pop in to see your doctor for reassurance.

I am not sure why the manometery test would indicate that surgery might be neccessary. When I had my test last year it cofirmed that during the 24 hrs I was producing a lot of acid.
I have found that not drinking to much tea and sustituting it for hot root ginger and honey helps.
As for the other symtoms i think that the Omeprazole might increase the amout of gas.
I aways try to eat slowly no later than 7pm.
As other people have already said worry can be your worst enemy!!

I've been told depending on how much acid the test shows I'm producing will depend on whether they think I should have surgery or not.
As for saying 2x 20mg Omeprazole is a low dose, that is because I feel I've been led to believe that by my consultant, he has said it can still go up a lot more than that, but quite honestly I'm sure it's them that make me tired, I'm only 24, use to have so much more motivation but since all this just continously knackered!
