    Dear hayley17

I worked in the Health Centre where I was a medical secretary. From my own experience I would contact your GP asking for an emergency appointment or home visit or try and contact the consultant via the secretary. I am very concerned that A&E cannot locate him. When you came out of A & E did they give you a letter to take to your doctor. I think you are in a terrible situation and I just hope that you will be able to contact your surgeon and hopefully he will be able to give you something else or bring your surgery forward.

Good advice you have given, I have always gone through consultants Secretary if needed to and they have always been

Extremely helpful even brought op forward which was a Godsend.

I would phone Secretary again and again till got an answer.

    hi,

thank you for your replies. i no a&e doctors wrote to my surgeon, as far as i no his secertary has got the letter but that was over a week ago and i havent heard anything since. i have been to the g.p on occasions and all she says is either go to a&e or ring his secaertary. both of which i have done on several occasions and only to be told the surgeons either in clinical meetsing or in theatre when speaking to his secertary or when i go to a&e they just give me more painkillers and send me home again. i dont feel much relief if any from the tablets im on. they used to at least give me some relief and take the edge off the pain but now it just seems they dont, and i also sturggle to each as i feel like a huge pressure where my hernia is and pain about half an hour or so after eating.

I would do as doctor says, keep on at Secretary and us a&e, you just have to keep on at them till sorted. Maybe your GP can do a letter of urgency to the consultant.
