Bartholin cyst and what helped me

Hello Ladies,
I am 26 and have just had my 2nd cyst. the last one was 2 years ago around this same time. I work in retail so I think mine come due to stress. Holiday Season. Both on my cyst did not become painful. They reached to the size of about golf ball and hard. And was just very uncomfortable. But never really painful. in the sense of how everyone elses have been. The first time, i did the baths, tea tree oil, lavendar and chamomille oil warm compresses and added silicea pills. The day I added the pills it bust that night, draining blood and puss.
This second time, it got about the same size, i did the baths, and the oils. this time adding the Pheobe remedy ( Calamine lotion, tea tree oil and witchhazel) put it on a cotton ball and did warm compresses. I also got on antibiotics. Nothing much happened but it did go down a little. I research someone saying apple vinegar and trying an onion. So that day I put apple vinegar on a cotton ball and did that with warm compresses for an hour. Then I decided to go for the onion. I cut the onion so that the raw skin was able to just lay on my cyst. I scrapped it so that the juices would come to the surface. about 30 minute later while on the phone I felt wet and looked down and my panties were full of blood. So the cyst burst. I went to the bathroom and helped put pressure on it to get as much as the infection out as possible. I got it down to about the size of a almond. I left it alone for about an hour so that it continue to drain by itself. But being how I am I couldn't leave it alone. So I went back to the bathroom got a mirror and pushed a bit more of it out. This time less blood more of a clear liquid so I think i was getting to the actual puss infection.
So now its been 4 days. It has stopped draining. It continue the day after the initial burst for a day. Its about the size of a pea. I know its not completely gone. it didnt go away after the first one. I just will continue to take my silicea pills and do a hot bath once a week and maybe adding a onion in there too if needed. I know for me stress is a factor and it did begin to grow after sex. But i have had sex other times n between too but that still couldve been a factor due to the friction.
I say try the onion it probably works just like how it makes you cry just opens up pores. With a BC you are willing to try about anything.

Thanks for the information.
I've been also suffering from bartholin cyst for a year. It's not painful but from time to time it gets nearly to a size of a big grape. You say that onion and apple cider vinegar are very effective but where did and how did ypu actually place them? Just on the cyst (not on the vaginal opening) or on the place where the ducts opens to (vaginal opening)? (I m asking ths because the bartholin ducts are located posterior and to the left and right of the vaginal opening.) ? And acv? Its very acidic, did you dilute it?didnt it burn? I would appreciate if you answer my questions. Thanks from now.

For the ACV I learned the hard way to add water to dilute. It does still burn but I've actually X out the vinegar and just do the onion now.
For the onion. I cut it and use a rounded layer. So it looks like the cup of the spoon. And yes I just place it right on the opening of the gland. So not IN my vagina(not all the way anyways) but I just place it there n put panties on to hold it in place.
I do this every time I feel it started to get blocked and swell. I usually feel relief within an hour or so. I really hope this works for people. It's crazy but when your body acting crazy we gotta work it out!

I continued with household. It stayed there for about 2 hours. Then i took it out and went to bed. I couldn't see any changes. But let me ask you, how long should i continue to do it? And it's now a little hard but not painful.
Thanks soooo much

I'm going to try the onion as its worth a shot & I need the pain gone for tomorrow as I have an important assignment at uni I won't be able to retake, can anyone else suggest any other remedies that are good for soothing the pain & most importantly popping it?

Hi Annalise,
You sound so similar to me....I was getting the really big extremely painful cysts which were getting highly infected to the point of having to have surgery that day to have them removed. I had two surgeries and almost a 3rd.
They continued to returned and little ones came up along the way as well...it was very frustrating because the Doctors and Specialists out it down to the fact I was just CystIc person and I had to deal with it. I found an incredible naturopath and they found that I had an extremely aggressive intestinal parasite inside me which was causing the cysts. Maybe you should look into it. If it is the parasite you do need to be wary because they are extremely nasty and feed off your diet so the cysts can get worse. I hope that's not the case but I wanted to reach out...
I'm in Brisbane and I found an amazing Naturopath who specialised in parasite treatment on the Gold Coast but I'm sure you'll have someone who can help you.
Hope you're getting better.

I just wanted to let everyone know about a skin condition called "Hidradenitis suppurativa". It causes cysts and they often reappear. If you have a few in the same area that won't go away or reappear, look in to this condition. Unfortunately not a lot of GPs know of it. Do what I did, research the condition, print out the information and take it to your GP. Hopefully this may help anyone in need of answers. I had my first cyst when I 19 and was not diagnosed until I 28.

What did they give you or what has been done since your diagnosis of hidradentis surpativa? I'm 28 now been suffering since 21. I've been cut and handed to the wolves we call doctors more than I can remember. Its remained the size of a lemonhead candy for about 2 years now.Tried and tested for everything and still NOTHING. I am beyond frustrated and even started looking into vaginoplasty. Ive become a doctor with all the research and time I've put into this. (Phoebe,Chloe remedy lol, witch hazel, serrapetese, antibotics, word catheater, birth control, yeast infection cream, antifungal cream, and hydrocortisone cream,etc...) The thing that has helped the most is hydrocortisone cream a steroid which is why I've looked into HS.

Haven't tried onion, but a small clove of garlic with the papery part off helps ease pain and swelling for me. I've found inserting one before bed helps me sleep! For added healing power, you can press it before inserting to enable juice to escape or cut a couple lines on it. It'll sting a little at first, then it will take the pain away! I've only just got my first ever cyst and am searching for remedies as it's got big and painful very quickly, making sitting and standing or even walking for any length of time an ordeal! I've just read that Serrapeptese can help, if taken twice daily. I have some of that and already take it once a day for an inoperable Morton's Neuroma in one of my feet, and it helps with that, as it's meant to increase circulation, so I'll just up the dose and see if that helps. I'm doing baths too, alternating between 1 with a cup of apple cider vinegar in it (with the mother), the next day, 5 tbsp of aluminum free baking soda, soaking for no more than 20 minutes each time, though it can be longer with the vinegar, up to an hour if needed. Both give relief for the short term but I'm looking for a long term solution and hope the combo of garlic and serrapeptese, with the added bonus of natural antibiotic, namely 5 drops of oregano oil whisked into a drink of juice (cranberry, blueberry or red grape are best, though you can use cooled herbal tea too) 2 xs a day, morning and night, upped to 3xs if need be, added in will sort me out. You'll need to whisk the oregano oil mix before every sip as the oil is quite strong and can briefly give your lips a burning sensation. Let you know how I make out. Meanwhile, it's good to know onions can be used if I run out of garlic!

Oops I mean I put a sliced garlic clove on the cyst. I couldn't believe it, it blew it right up. Sweet relief.
