Bartholin Cyst- Not what I thought.

Hi 👋🏼 wanted to share with you. Recently, I have had an issue. Normally I get cyst on the left. When it’s on the right, it’s completely different. I went to the gynecologist recently cuz I was having discharge like I do when I have a cyst on the right. I experienced no pain, but was constipated. I have had colitis on/off and was constipated. She took a look. No cyst. I told her, you won’t see anything if it’s been drained cuz it collapses. She said you don’t have anything wrong with your vagina. You need to go see a gastroenterologist. She thinks it’s a fistula. In researching, a fistula will cause a cyst that will drain out the bartholin gland. So- look into it. It’s not anything about the vagina. I told my gastrointestinal that the pain from a cyst is SO bad that I never even pay attention to my BM or what’s going on in that department at all. 20 years I’ve gotten these cysts. Not one time ever have they told me this. I’m so happy and grateful to know. We need to add our gut and the possibility of a fistula to the conversation. I’m so happy and grateful to finally understand why 😩. Typically a fistula requires surgury. I am praying i wont need one. I also have a UTI, which is common with a cyst. I encourage anyone suffering with these cysts to look into this. I hope this is helpful. ❤

That is helpful. I currently have a Bartholins but have had surgery twice on one that completely collapses. I too was told there was nothing wrong. It was quite humiliating to be told there nothing wrong, but my gynea appointment always seemed to follow a rupture/collapse. I now take pics so they can see what's been happening.

I will mention a fistula next time I go.

Thanks for sharing. Hope you and all the sufferers out their a speedy recovery.
