Bartholin Gland

Hello everyone, I hope you all feel good
I am 22 years old and single.
I want to tell you about my biggest health problem, looking for advices& experiences to encourage me to go to hospital.
My problem started 7 years ago when I was 16
My (Bartholin gland) in the left side firstly has blocked and that caused (the Bartholin's Cyst) to appear.
The swelling started getting bigger and bigger, and started to spread ):
And then the other side started to be swollen too
Now the both sides and the whole area are swollen!!!
But it is not infected because it is painless.
I feel discomfort when walking or sitting.
The appearance is horrible. And I am terrified to go to hospital.
I think that I have to do Surgery!!
I read in the internet about the Surgeries
that treat (the Bartholin's Cyst).
And I found the Surgery that called (Marsupialization)
Is this problem common???
Is the Marsupialization Surgery hard or easy??
Is the Marsupialization Surgery painful??
Please I want someone who did this surgery to tell me about it
I need you so much…..

I suffered of the left bartholin cyst too for 5 years or so. The only procedure that worked for me was the gland removal. It was done a year ago and I'm good now.

1- you just removed the left gland..so the right gland will work
but for me the both sides are swollen, and I heard that when the two glands are removed, that will cause suffering after getting married.
2- did you do Marsupialization Surgery and did not work??!!!!!

I haven't had the gland removed yet, my surgery is scheduled for September 26 but my advice is that if you don't get the problem taken care of it, having the big knots can cause intercourse to be unpleasant.
The main purpose of the gland is to provide lubrication so if you have both glands removed, wait the appropriate time after surgery, and use lubricant during intercourse, in theory you should be fine.
All of this is a "in theory" answer because I haven't had my surgery yet so I'm going off of research I have gathered in my 4 years of dealing with theach cysts.

Hi,
Yes. It was only the left and don't feel any difference whatsoever.
My doctor told me that Marsupialization is not permanent and there's chances of it coming back. It costs about the same, they give u anesthesia on both but with the removal u rest assured it's cured forever.
