Bartholin gland removal

Hello, I’m 19 yrs old and just yesterday I had my left bartholin gland removed due to me having very large reoccurring cysts. This last one was about 2 inches long and blocking my vaginal opening, not sure how deep it went. The doctors did not say how many stitches I have and even with pain medicine I’m still in a lot of pain and discomfort. Does anyone know how long the pain is going to last? Also, when will it be safe to shower? Due to me bleeding I have a lot of dried blood on and around the entire area and wet wipes unfortunatley don’t do it much justice. 

I’m also curious as to other people’s experiences with the healing process.
