Bartholin's cyst

I have this Bartholin's cyst for a month now. I have already consulted my OB about this earlier and she prescribed some antibiotics. Is it really recurring or it depends on its size?

Is it abscessed? Infected? If so antibiotic won't do anything. Is this your first time? If so I would it get it lanced and have them placed a word catheter and it should be left there at least 1 to 2 weeks to keep the bland open. If you do that chances of recurring are very low according to statistics. If you don't lance it and a word catheter isn't placed chances of recurring are high unfortunately. I'm surprised your OBGYN hasn't done that...

I had this first time last April and its size was like a grape i think. Then it popped after severe pain, I assumed that it's just a normal boil. Then it came back this month after having s*x with my husband. So i rushed to my OB. The size that time was just like a pea so she prescribed some antibiotics. And now, it's getting bigger and the worse is I got my period. Will it affect the cyst then?

I see, it seems that Bartholin cysts come back during menstruales cycle. Most of my absessed cysts have appeared when I am on my period. As far as affecting it I personally think is 50/50 it can affect it because there's more liquids down there but I'm not sure... I suggest you it lanced and have them place the word catheter. When they say operation that's most likely what they mean I would say, lancing it means making a small cut in your cyst and have the puss/blood come out and have the gland drained. Once that's done they have to place a word catheter so it can leave the gland open to continue to drain. If you keep on getting these then a marsupalization is done or even a the removal of gland. In my case the reason why I keep getting these is because the first and second time I had these lanced they didn't place a word catheter so that's why they kept coming back sad the last time I had my new doctor told me that it is very important to have the word catheter out because that keeps the gland open. I have scr tissue on my gland from all the cutting because I have had it lanced 5 times sad so if I get it again I will most likely get the gland removed but hats my case since I had the cyst absessed many times. I highly recommend you tell your doctor to lance it and have them place the word catheter before doing anything to extreme. Good luck!

I went to my OB earlier because my abscess popped out. She recommended me to continue taking my antibiotics until my period ends. Fortunately, my abscess was smaller than before and not so painful. I guess antibiotics help me a little bit. I bought Dalzen's Serrapeptase, just to try after finishing my antibiotics. Hopefully, it will help me along with warm water plus salt as cleanser.

I'm doing fine as of now, not so painful unlike last month when I first had it. I hope that witch hazel, calamine and serrapeptase can easily be found here in the philippines. I dont know what to do, this will affect me and my husband. sad I can't do the sitz bath because I'm working at night. My OB told me that it will require operation if the antibiotics wont work. sad
