Bartholin's cyst back after full gland removal

Hi
10 years ago I started with reoccurring Bartholin's abcesses, a few got to the size of golf balls. The pain was unreal. I had a marsupilization but that didn't work. The infections got so bad, that a small sinus tract developed, from the Bartholin's gland to the outside entrance to my vagina, the pain from that was nothing I had ever experienced. After courses of antibiotics, and being seen my numerous consultants, I finally found a consultant who decided the best thing to do was remove my left Bartholin's gland and sinus tract. I recovered well after the surgery and for 8 years I haven't looked back- it was the best decision I had made. Now I'm 36, and a few days ago started with pain which I knew could only mean one thing, either a cyst or abscess had formed again, on the left side. I couldn't see anything but could feel a small hard lump on the entrance to the vagina. I went to the GP who had a quick look and said it 'could be' a Bartholin's cyst- I explained that it couldn't be because I had the whole gland removed, he didn't really have an answer for that. He's put me on 2 lots of antibiotics and I'm really hoping this treats it and it goes away, but I'm doubtful and so scared that this is going to be the start of another long painful journey. Has anyone else had a Bartholin's gland removed and still had cysts or abscesses form? Thank you
