Bartholin’s Gland Removal questions???

Hello, ladies! I am one of an unfortunate many who have experienced multiple recurring cysts over the course of about 5 years. My OB says it may be best to completely remove my Bartholin's Gland. I have a consult for the surgery next week.

Obviously, with the horrible number of cysts I've had and the way they disrupt my life, I believe gland removal is likely to be the best option for me.

I want to ask a couple of questions to those of you who have had it!

I am an extremely active person. I lift weights, and I ride BMX bikes. How long will it take before I can resume full, strenuous physical activity? I have heard that recovery time is long, and I am moderately prepared for that, but I'm curious to know what everyone else's experiences have been, preferably from people who are also very physically active.

I am also wondering how long most of you who have had glands removed waited until having sex again. And was it different in any way for you?
