Bartholins Abcess Removal - Bloated/Weight Gain/Recover

After a week of severe excruciating pain my doctor admitted me to hospital for a marsuplization immediately. I have never felt so relieved, the pain during the week was the worse I have ever felt.
I'm still sore now where the stitches are but pain killers seem to be helping, however, since I have been ill with the Abcess I seem to have gained 4/5lbs and cannot go to the toilet & are totally bloated.
Has anyone had this, or know why this could be?
Also - does anyone know how long it will take before you feel normal again below and at ease to exercise?

The reason you can't go to the bathroom is from the Anastesia.
Try medamuccil or a stool softener should help
You will definitely feel better within one week
I had the marsuplazation just about two weeks and I'm feeling well now

Are you from the uk?
Do you mind me asking how long it took for you to stop being sore down there? What did you do to help it and were you bloated?

I'm from the United States
I took a good week or so still alittle sore it I sit in a hard surface I have a post op Appt today
I put bacitracin on the area to keep area free from infection and did sitz baths three times a day for the first 2 days then twice a day for the first week that really helped too and I used a water bottle to clean myself down there I was very careful

Hope you're feeling a little beyyer. I had the Marsupialization and the first week was rough for me. I felt better after the second week but then had a little trouble with the stitches. They were suppose to dissolve but at week four I could still feel pulling from them. My doctors then just removed them(I was pretty much healed). Them I really felt better. So it took me about six weeks to feel completely myself. Give it time. It's a very sensitive area.
I woukd imagine the reason you can't go to the bathroom is because of the pain pills. Renee is right; try medamuccil or miralax.
Good luck! Feel better!
