Take a couple sitz baths a day. Run up enough water to cover your \"bits\", and add a couple handfuls of salt. This should help open the cyst and clean it out - salt is a natural antiseptic. Don't use talc, soaps etc, which can irritate.

If you get another cyst, ask your dr about what other treatments you can have as antibitotics rarely help. I had a 4cm bartholin abscess and has a marsuplisation procedure - simple day surgery, and this should hopefully prevent it coming back. Unfortunately, letting them burst on their own, is treating the symptoms and not the cause.

    Good luck with your wedding.

    jovimaiden1,

I hope you're feeling better. Look on the up side that it burst a couple of weeks before your wedding so all should have calmed down for your BIG day.

I echo the advice given. I also used to fill the sink with hot salt water and soaked a flannel, folded it up and pressed gently on the area and repeated. Continue with the antibiotics and also regular paracetamol or ibuprofen to help with pain and inflammation. And please REST!

I had the op by laser (done from inside the vagina and no stitches) 2 weeks ago and the post-op pain was never any worse than when the cyst was big and burst. I had 4 this year!

When I felt run down with this, I took and am taking now a tonic called Metatone (with iron and Vits) which really made me feel better. You can buy from Tesco and most pharmacies.

I'm sending positive healing vibes your way and sure all will be ok in time for your special day. Take care of yourself and try not to stress about it too much.

    Big HUGS!
