i had surgery 2 weeks ago for vaginal repair of bladder prolapse and pelvic floor muscles with small rectal prolapseSpent night of surgery in hospital then flew hone with cath in place Flew back on day 5 after surgery to have cath removed and dr told me was ok to take baths (my dr is out on 2 week vacation but this dr was in n my surgery)Has anyone else been cleared to take baths so early? Had the worst time trying to ride in car every bump hurt and sitting on plane was impossible Also how long have you been told recovery would last My paperwork says 6 weeks but seems like everyone else thinks healing will be slower How long till you can exercise and jog again? Dr did say baths ok but no swimming pools or hot tubs

hi...no bath for 6 weeks at least. Healing can take up to 3 months or more so please take care. ..no lifting or stretching. Rest lots with feet up and gentle walking in between . I wouldn't consider vigorous exercise especially jogging until you are cleared to do so. I had surgery Dec and only just starting to do more now (this is my 5th POP surgery so please don't rush your recovery to avoid recurring prolapse /pelvic organ problems . Good luck xx

I have also just had surgery for anterior repair (I also had posterior repair two years ago) .It is three weeks since I had my surgery and I was not sure about the baths but we have a broken shower so I dared to have two baths so I could wash my hair. I didnt linger too long because I think soap or shampoo in the bath could set off UTI-I am bad enough without having surgery. As for the pain I am now down to just paracetamol but still painful. I cant seem to sit comfortably so have spent quite a lot of time laying on the bed. I hope we both improve soon !

It is like a pain that goes right up inside but not my leg. I am also still having problems passing urine properly. It comes out as a trickle and then I have to press with a great wad of toilet roll and gallons come out that my body has retained. I this does not sort itself out I will need to ring GP but I had the same problem last time so just following the instructions I had then-to drink lots of water and walk about a bit more

jogging is the worst thing yiu can do after prolapse repairs.
yiu will reprolapse if you start jogging hun without a doubt. I was told by my professor Urogynacologist that no exercise for 8 wks and only walking, swimming and gentle cycling for life.
these rep will not stand heavy lifting, running or high impact exercise.
good luckx
