Hi nezi I'm about 12 weeks post op and same as you I thought I felt well enough to have a bath and made the mistake of getting in the bath when no one was with me to help me out if I couldn't manage and that's what happened . I got in very carefully enjoyed the soak but when it come to get out I really struggled and it took me 20 mins to get out and was in terrible pain afterwards but I have had a knee replacement 2 yrs ago so can't kneel on it so that made it more difficult for me . My advise would be wait till someone's in the house with you in case u get into difficulty getting out x

I had my first bath around 8 weeks, but like Christine, had a very worrisome and hard time getting out the first time. My biggest problem was being insecure pulling myself up from the bottom of the tub with my arms.  The next time, when getting out, I flipped my self over onto my knees first, almost like a 3 point turn, then got out from my knees at the bottom. That worked wonders, and still do that now, at 9 months post op. Good luck, it's worth it.

I would recommend following the dr. instructions. They are put in place for your safety. Wait two more weeks. Then you can soak toll your a prune.

It it takes many weeks for the bone to grow and stabilize the components around the implant. Be cautious for your own safety!

i have had 3 THR & each one was different. It's so important to take all the precautions necessary to insure a good and complete recovery.

Hi Nezi,  i am 8 weeks today but i have had a really bad pain in my other thigh for about 2 weeks , so i thought i must get in the bath and maybe it will help. The bath was lovely , i let the water out of the bath before i got out and made sure i had something to help me get up before i got in just in case, as i was on my own as son back at school and husband at work. and i had some water to drink stright away. I had a RTHR and the scar is not hurting at all. i am still walking with one stick as my right leg is taking a while re learn how to walk, i  waddled quite badly. I am going to start swimming next week as the water felt really good against my leg. hope this helps smile
