Sorry Paula, I'm not going to support their claims. Anything that claims to "remove toxins and cure ..." is only achieving one thing: putting money in someone's pocket and taking it out of yours! Your liver and kidneys are the detox mechanism of your body - they remove all sorts of things that are bad for us far better than a bath with salt in it.

Fibromyalgia is not a "toxin" related disorder - it is a fault in pain perception by the nervous system. Polymyalgia is probably due to a problem with blood flow as it is a most likely a vasculitis.

Sorry Paula, I've no idea either . If you are worried ask your GP.

If you can get in and out of the bath (I couldn't!) then I'm sure the salt will give you a lovely relaxing bath. So it won't be all wasted. It might even make the PMR less uncomfortable for a while - but it won't cure it.

Hi Paula,  It sounds neuralgic.  I've had different fleeting head discomforts every few minutes in the past, several times; each time it is a little different and usually goes away in 2 - dayis.  For the life of me, unfortunately I can't think of the name (ugh) right now.    Good luck!

Though I know it is not a cure, but very relaxing and does help with aches and pains, I take a nice 20 minute soak a few times a week in Epson Salt, baking soda and usually lavender essential oil.  It is very nice and relaxing before bedtime.  One important thing to remember is to drink plenty of water for the next 24 hours.

Although I do agree with Eileen re I did visit the salt baths at Droitwich a while back, the are really relaxing and a great experience also they are so salty you just float.

There are spas all over Europe for "rheumatics" - but they just help you live with it, not cure. If I lived locally to one - I'd buy a season ticket if it wasn't too extortionate...

My aunt used to take a holiday every year to partake of the spa at Berchstesgaten.

Paula, If you haven't opened the sea salt you can return the item to Amazon. I have done that before. Just check "returns" on the Amazon website. There is a time limit though.

I'm with those who say the salts don't "detox".  But I also side with those who suggest a good soak in a salt bath is very relaxing, especially with a few drops of a safe aromatherapy oil added (I use lavendar and tea tree oil).  I used to get dead sea salt, or sometimes celtic salt, our local aromatherapy store carries a number of these exotic salts.  Now I just get Epsom salts from the pharmacy because I know my skin will absorb a nice little dose of magnesium.  smile
