It's me again! I don't want to overload anyone, so I'm picking out my worst worries and putting them out one by one last few days. Anyone with bowel (ibs) gas, bloating
which I've always really had but worse now. crave foods I've never liked, beans, and cabbage! I used to almost puke at the smell of cabbage cooking. I pea normal amounts a day, maybe less because I'm bad about drinking enough water. But last few mo I've had two instances for a few days each wear I felt I might be getting a uti but never did. Felt I had to go soon as I just went! but it passes when I up my water intake. (cut pop out) still drink some tea though. Diarrhea back and forth with normal. never constipated. But last month or two twice now ive gotten a crampy feeling in my side in my muscle is feels like, it goes away with laying down and heat. Can you get gas trapped there?

Hello shawnalb
Yes, I get the same and often think I've got a uti or cystitis which we are more prone to, but I get it the worst when I then have a few days of bleeding. It's flipping awful. I just take some paracetamol if there's pain, drink plenty and use a hot water bottle but sometimes it lasts for a while

HI Sassy,
Like today I don't feel the uncomfortable feeling of having to pea frequently or needing to go again after I just went. but Friday and over weekend I did. No Not pain in tummy but more in my side right above my hip at that side muscle area. I think maybe a muscle spasm.

Hi shawnalb
Gotcha. Have to say, I find it's a process of elimination half the time because it's so variable. I know I get utis/cystitis quite a bit plus a low ache across my bikini line kind of area so I take the over the counter stuff for cystitis and try and work backwards from there. It's like a jigsaw puzzle! Maybe try something like that if it goes back to peeing a lot but check with your doc. It's a funny place for ibs, but again I'm a shambles because I have an ileostomy after an acute bout of colitis. What I would say is that my taste in food completely changed after that, foods I didn't even touch I couldn't get enough of and they did say its the body craving what you're missing which would sort of fit if it's more of an ibs/bowel thing. Try cutting back to basic plain foods and add in from there, it may give you a clue....... How amazingly complex are we! Xx

A nurse once told me that if your pee gets too concentrated it can irritate the bladder make it feel like it needs to pee frequently. No answer to the short lived pain though.

Hiya
It's quite common with menopause because the urethra thins with the lack of hormones so it can easily be irritated..... Oh joy!
